Since 1907, Converse has been one of the most beloved and chosen shoe brands. In fact, they are so loved that tattered, broken-down Chucks are a badge of honor. Worn to death, where do their soles go to die?
As much as we take pride in the Converse lovers’ passion for their dead shoes, inevitably, there comes a time when owner and shoe must part.
So rather than throwing them away – what if there was a celebration of death for these shoes that have been so loyal to us?
To be well-loved is to be worn down. Converse, until we part.
The traveling funeral tour will take place in three cities, giving grieving Bostonians, Philadelphians, and New Yorkers the chance to pay respects to their dearly departed.
The ceremony consists of eulogies, dirges, cremation, and repurposed ashes transformed into stained glass to be forever displayed.
Attendees will have the option to immortalize their deceased Converse by customizing a new pair. Mourners can take the parts of their shoes they just aren’t ready to part with and transfer them to a new pair to carry on their beloved’s legacy.
flowers and sympathy cards to be sent after the ceremony
